Humidity-loving reptiles and amphibians thrive with ZooMed's All Natural Frog Moss. Ideal for frogs, toads, and salamanders, Frog Moss may actually start growing under terrarium conditions.
Open package and place moss in clean bucket of water. Squeeze moss and allow it to absorb water. Remove moss from water and "wring out" only leaving 15-20% moisture in moss.
Place in terrarium around a low shallow water dish and build moss around the edges of the dish so your animals can easily get in and out of the water.
To prevent possible drowning of smaller animals put a sponge or a piece of driftwood in the water dish.

The moss can be washed and reused several times before replacing with new moss. Frequency of cleaning will depend on the number of animals in your terrarium.
Amphibians absorb through their skin and are sensitive to toxins in their environment. If you detect a foul odor, or suspect that the moss may be dirty, you should clean or replace the moss.
To clean, remove the moss from your terrarium and place in a bucket of clean, dechlorinated water. Swirl the moss in the water, then remove it and "wring out" as much water as possible. Repeat this process until the moss appears clean and no foul odor is detected.

It is important to dose iodine on a regular basis because carbon filtration and protein skimming remove it from water. Concentrated Iodine is best dosed on a daily basis (remember to divide the suggested weekly dosing volume by the number of days per week you will be adding the product to the aquarium), which will maintain an approximately stable iodine concentration in the aquarium at all times.

Copper is often used to treat many parasitic infections on fresh and saltwater fish. To be effective, the copper concentration in the aquarium must be maintained at the therapeutic level for several weeks. Frequent testing is required to monitor the copper level in the aquarium.

Some fish species are very sensitive to copper treatments, therefore, follow the coppper treatment manufacturer's directions carefully.

Copper should not be used or evident in aquariums with invertebrates, including snails, shrimp, crayfish and corals, as well as in freshwater or ponds with plants. Tap water may contain copper leached from pipes and ultimately, it can accumulate in the aquarium.

This kit does 90 tests and can be used in freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

Kit contains: a dropper bottle for accurate dispensing of test solutions, easy to read instructions and a color chart, a non-staining glass test tube with snap-tight cap.

Range is as follows for fresh and salt water: 0.25 PPM, 0.5 PPM, 1.0 PPM, 2.0 PPM, 4.0 PPM.
Fill a clean test tube with 5ml of water to be tested (to the line on the bottle).

Add 10 drops of test solution, holding dropper bottle upside down in a completely vertical position to assure uniformity of drops added to the water sample.

Cap the test tube and shake the tube for 5 seconds. Do not hold finger over the open end of test tube, as this may affect test results.

Wait one minute for the color to develop.

Remove the cap. Hold the test tube upright over the white area on the color chart and view the color of the solution by looking down from above through the tube from top to bottom. Compare the color of the sample with the printed colors.

Even a very faint color indicates the presence of copper. The closest color match on the test chart indicates the total PPM of total copper (free and chelated) in the water sample.

Rinse the test tube after each use.

Battery installation:
Remove battery cover from back of time.
Remove battery seal and reinstall battery.
Replace battery cover. (Note: Battery will activate display screen and start clock automatically.)
Plug Center into a grounded 3-prong receptacle controlled by a GFI circuit breaker.
Turn on the on/off switch (red light is visible when power is on). (Note: Battery serves as a back-up power for timer settings. Replace every 9 months.)

Setting day and time:
Hold down the CLK (clock) button and press:
A. Day button to set the day of the week
B. Hour and Min buttons to set the current time of day.

Setting timers:
Note: Yellow (daytime) and Blue (nighttime) outlets alternate power, both outlets cannot be on at the same time-when the daytime outlets are on the nighttime outlets are off and when the daytime outlets turn off, the nighttime outlets are switched on automatically.
Press PRG button once. Yellow outlets on.
